At a glance

  • Foremind, FlourishDx, Mibo, Mind Safety and Sentrient are five software platforms for managing psychosocial hazards in Australia
  • Foremind is the only one that connects risk assessment, incident reporting and an in-house EAP in one system
  • Some lean into large-scale analytics and validated surveys, suited to resourced safety or HR teams
  • Others use AI to generate compliance paperwork, or centre on incident reporting inside a broader GRC/HR suite

What is a psychosocial safety platform?

A psychosocial safety platform is software that helps an employer identify, assess, control and monitor psychosocial hazards, the four-step cycle set out in Safe Work Australia's Model Code of Practice: Managing Psychosocial Hazards at Work. In practice, this replaces spreadsheets, paper surveys and email trails with a single digital record.

Why does an organisation need one?

Spreadsheets and one-off surveys can't demonstrate an ongoing, evidenced process. A dedicated platform keeps identifying psychosocial hazards at work, assessing them and reviewing controls connected in one place, which is what regulators expect to see during an audit or investigation.

Is using a platform a legal requirement?

Not by name. Australian WHS law requires employers to identify, assess, control and monitor psychosocial hazards under the Model Code of Practice, but it doesn't mandate a specific product. A platform is simply a practical way to meet that ongoing duty and to show, rather than assert, that it's being met. Requirements also vary somewhat by jurisdiction, so it's worth checking the psychosocial hazard legislation for your state before choosing a tool.

What to look for in a psychosocial safety platform

  • A validated or well-evidenced assessment methodology, not a generic staff survey
  • Ongoing monitoring rather than a one-off exercise, since the Code of Practice is a continuous cycle
  • Risk assessments, incident reports and controls connected in one workflow, not siloed tools
  • Audit-ready documentation that shows identification, assessment, controls and review
  • A clear path from hazard identification to staff support, so flagged risks lead to action
  • Real-time dashboards so leaders can see emerging risk before it escalates

The best psychosocial safety platforms in Australia (2026)

The six options below are compared on published product information across assessment methodology, compliance workflow, and support features. Foremind is included in this comparison, and we've applied the same criteria to every option so you can weigh each on the same terms.

1. Foremind

Foremind combines a psychosocial safety platform and an EAP into one system. When a hazard gets flagged, staff can book a counselling session straight away, and that session's data goes back into your risk register automatically, no separate systems, no manual re-entry.

For managers, this means one dashboard handles hazard tracking, controls and audit-ready compliance records, while also giving staff same-day access to an Australian-based counsellor. Risk assessments and employee surveys help you identify psychosocial hazards across your workforce, rate them for likelihood and severity, and put controls in place, all mapped to what the Code of Practice actually requires.

  • Risk assessments covering all psychosocial hazard domains required by Safe Work Australia
  • Anonymous incident reporting alongside formal check-ins, not just staff meetings and toolbox talks
  • Likelihood, severity and exposure rating for each hazard, with interacting hazards flagged
  • Controls documented against the hierarchy of controls, with who implemented what and when
  • Compliance dashboard giving real-time, audit-ready visibility for WHS and HR teams
  • An in-house employee assistance program, so a flagged hazard can lead to a booked counselling session the same day
  • Utilisation and check-in data to show, not just claim, that support is being used

Best if you want one platform that documents psychosocial compliance and gets support to staff, rather than buying an assessment tool and a counselling line from two different providers. Less suited if you only want a bare risk register with no connection to staff-facing support.

2. FlourishDx

FlourishDx offers a tailored approach that spans desktop reviews of existing data, digital risk assessment surveys, and psychologist-facilitated focus groups and interviews. Its software platform is built for consulting at scale, with data analytics tools customisable to the organisation's context and aligned to WHS and IR legislation.

  • Desktop reviews of documents and existing data
  • Digital psychosocial risk assessment surveys, customisable to context
  • Focus groups and interviews facilitated by psychologists and human factors experts
  • Heat mapping to compare risk rating, hazard exposure and outcomes between groups
  • An ROI calculator to help predict the health and productivity impact of hazard reduction

Best if you want a mix of quantitative survey data and qualitative, psychologist-led inquiry into the root cause of hazards. Less suited if you want counselling and compliance documentation delivered from the same login, since FlourishDx's published materials focus on assessment rather than an integrated EAP.

3. Mibo

Mibo's Psychosocial Risk Management Assessment, or PRMA, has been independently evaluated by Griffith University's RISE Research Centre and covers 24 specific work factors, including leading indicators like psychosocial safety climate. Results feed a dashboard with organisation, site and team-level views, plus a proprietary harm-benefit indicator and an estimate of the financial cost of psychosocial risk.

  • PRMA survey covering 24 work factors, independently validated for reliability
  • Dashboard views by organisation, location, department and team
  • Estimated cost of burnout, absenteeism and turnover linked to psychosocial risk
  • A digital risk register (Mibo Records) for tracking control measures
  • Manager and staff training modules, plus a wellbeing app for daily interventions
  • Tiered packages from a one-off health check through to ongoing coaching plans

Best if you want a heavily validated, analytics-first assessment with cost modelling to support a business case. Less suited to a smaller organisation wanting a lighter-touch, lower-cost starting point, given the tiered, enterprise-style packaging.

4. Mind Safety

Mind Safety is an AI-assisted platform focused on generating compliance documentation rather than running an ongoing survey or dashboard. It guides users through prompts to produce risk assessments, hazard registers, action plans, wellbeing documentation and return-to-work plans aligned with Safe Work Australia guidance.

  • AI-guided psychosocial risk assessments and hazard registers
  • Wellbeing action plans and return-to-work plan generation
  • Policy documentation aligned to current WHS compliance requirements
  • Designed for use by supervisors, HR professionals, safety officers and business owners

Best if your priority is producing compliant paperwork quickly without a dedicated safety team. Less suited if you need a live survey instrument, incident reporting and a dashboard that tracks hazards over time, since Mind Safety's published focus is document generation rather than ongoing monitoring.

5. Sentrient

Sentrient's psychosocial offering centres on incident reporting software, sitting inside its broader compliance, GRC and HR platform. It replaces paper forms, emails and spreadsheets with a central system for capturing incidents, tracking investigations and demonstrating how organisations manage psychosocial hazards at work over time.

  • Centralised capture of bullying, harassment, workload pressure, fatigue and near misses
  • Investigation workflows with assigned actions tracked to completion
  • Aggregated data to help identify patterns, trends and hotspots across teams
  • Evidence trail of reports, investigations and actions for due diligence purposes
  • Part of a wider compliance, GRC and HR software suite, not a standalone psychosocial tool

Best if you already want incident reporting connected to a broader HR and compliance system. Less suited if you're starting from scratch and need a validated hazard identification survey first, since Sentrient's core strength is capturing incidents rather than running an upfront risk assessment.

6. Converge International

Converge offers psychosocial risk assessment as one of three fixed-scope packages: Hazard Identification, Hazard Assessment, and Risk & Strategy, each building on the last with a survey, demographic analysis, a location-based heat map, and a final risk register and stakeholder presentation. It's worth being clear about what this actually is: a consultant-delivered engagement backed by an online survey tool, not a software platform staff log into on an ongoing basis.

  • Psychosocial hazard identification survey with records and reports analysis
  • Demographic analysis and likelihood/severity risk prioritisation
  • Location-based heat mapping of hazard exposure
  • Psychosocial risk register, control measure recommendations, and a stakeholder presentation
  • A downloadable assessment guide authored by Converge's National Psychosocial Risk Manager
  • Delivered as a scoped package by Converge's consulting team, rather than self-service software

Best if you want an external consultant to run a one-off or periodic assessment and hand you a report and recommendations. Less suited if you're looking for an ongoing risk management system that stays connected to incident reports and check-in data year-round, since Converge's psychosocial offering sits alongside its broader EAP business rather than functioning as a standalone, continuously-updated platform.

Frequently asked questions

Can I customise a psychosocial risk assessment to my industry?

Yes. Most platforms in this comparison, including Foremind's assessments, FlourishDx and Mibo, offer some level of configurable surveys, so it's worth confirming exactly what can be adjusted with each provider.

What's the difference between a risk assessment survey and incident reporting software?

A risk assessment survey proactively identifies hazards before harm occurs, while incident reporting captures events and concerns as they happen. Foremind connects both in one workflow.

Do these platforms replace the need for an employee assistance program?

Not on their own. FlourishDx, Mibo, Mind Safety and Sentrient are assessment, documentation or incident reporting tools rather than EAPs, while Foremind combines both in the same employee assistance program.

How do these platforms handle the four-step Code of Practice cycle?

The Model Code of Practice requires an ongoing cycle of identify, assess, control and monitor, not a one-off exercise. Foremind and Mibo are both built around a continuous cycle with live dashboards, while Mind Safety leans more toward generating documentation on request.

Is a consultant-delivered assessment the same as a psychosocial safety platform?

No. A consultant-delivered assessment, like Converge's packages, is a fixed-scope project ending in a report, while a platform is software staff and leaders use continuously.

Is confidentiality guaranteed for staff using these systems?

Reputable platforms keep individual responses and counselling sessions confidential, reporting only de-identified trends to the employer. Confirm each provider's approach to anonymous reporting before rollout.

Choosing the right psychosocial safety platform is a decision that affects both your people and your legal exposure. Whichever platform you're leaning towards, it's worth comparing a couple side by side before you commit.
