Educational Sectors Psychosocial Safety Handbook
Educators enter the profession to make a difference in students’ lives, but often struggle with:
- Emotional investment in student outcomes beyond their control
- Public scrutiny and criticism of educational systems
- Resource constraints limiting their ability to provide optimal education
- Work-life boundaries that blur with after-hours responsibilities
- Professional identity tied to student success and behaviour
This guide unpacks some of the specific warning signs that leaders in the education sector need to be aware of in order to support their teams and some key strategies for managing the unique challenges that they are exposed to.
Key Takeaway: Teachers are exposed to some of the most challenging conditions given the nature of the work and additional pressure that comes from parents. In order to ensure you are best positioned to manage these risks it is critical to understand how well you are prepared to manage these situations and provide your teams with the resources and skills to manage them.
