Inadequate reward and recognition refers to how a worker gets credit for good work and how the organisation supports a culture of reward. Similarly to support this factor can be a protective factor, a lack of praise and recognition in combination with other risks such a organisational justice can create a psychological hazard if it is enduring.
Let’s Look at an Example
Susie is an administrator and often feels her work is unrecognised in favour of the managers and sales team. She notices that some team members get end of year bonus and pay rises, where she hasn’t had one in over a year.
She decides to bring it up with her manager and asks if they could have a better way to recognise staff contribution and her manager shuts her down. Susie is then ostracised by her team and manager, left out of important communications and meetings. She begins to experience low mood and back pain.

All our counsellors are contractors. They are highly qualified and go through long interview processes to ensure they are the right fit.
All counsellors must apply to the role and are interviewed before added to the platform, must meet the criteria as per the below.- We employee counsellors, mental health social workers, mental health nurses and psychotherapists.- Qualifications in Counselling, Psychotherapy or Social Work, minimum Bachelor or Masters qualification- Minimum 3 years direct practice experience post graduation- Registration with appropriate body – PACFA Clinical registration, ACA level 2 minimum, Accredited Mental health Social worker or Clinical Social worker- Broad experience providing individual coaching, counselling and support for personal and work-related issues- How far reaching is your EAP?
